This gonna be PVE guide and i hope it will help some shamys to be better in raids
Ok so first what makes shamys so special?
Its TOTEMS . The unique kind of bufs . In raids try to keep them up all the time and make sure that all your party members are in range of totems . If not just /w them to come closer to you .
If you are in tanks party always put Strenght totem and ask tank what he needs Windfury ( for more aggro ) or Agility totem ( dodge ) . Those totmes are the most important for tank . Also put Mana spring totem cuz there is always healers in tank party and its crucial for Paly tanks. And if you are ELE or RESTO shamy Mana spring totem is your best friend
If you are in casters party put Wrath of air , Mana spring , and Totem of wrath if you are ELE .
If you are in melee dps party put Strenght and Windfury .
Also when fighting boss put that little stick that keeps spitting fire all the time . It may do little damage but its better then nothing .
Other things to remember in raids :
Use HEROISM when raid leader tells you not when you want it
Keep your water shield all the time
DONT use Chain lightning in raids unless you know you wont pull more trash ( in Hyjal ) . CL is also not mana eficient
If you are ELE and specialy ENCHA try not to get aggro . Ask pala for Blessing of salvation or use your totem if you really need . If you got aggro stop ASAP and DONT RUN .
Dont forget you can rez others
RESTORATION
The best raid healers for sure. Chain heal is owerpovered spell so use it
. In raids most of the time you will use Lesser healing wave and Chain heal and Healing wave when you need to big heal . The best thing to use it with Natures swiftnes in those OH SHIT situations when tank got wery low HP . Also when you are last or one of the last healers left or need to do big heal then use Healing wave . In other situations Lesser HW is enough . Also dont forget that Chain heal heals ONLY party members when you cast it on your party member . If you cast it on not party member it will heal ALL RAID . Dont forget to keep Earth shield on tank all the time . Its very good heal over time . It sometimes may get buged - orb number stays the same so it dont heal tank . In that situation cast earth shield on yourself then recast it on tank .
As for talent build i have never looked for the best one . I always do it myself and advice to do the same. Just remember that Healing way dont work . Spec deep into resto and put 5 points in enha for mana. Thats all .
ENHANCEMENT
Can do insane damage with good gear and i think with full SWP it can outdps those pesky SWP rogues
. The main thing for that damage is WindFurry . To do the most damage you need to get the best of WF and know how it works . The best thing is to use 2 fists from SWP with speed of 2.6 ( the slower the better for ENHA ) . There is no discusion that those 2 fists in raid is better then any 2hander . If you cant get those get any 2 weapons with speed of 2.6 or slower. Why? Becouse they do more damage and have bigger % to proc WF . There is no trick to proc more WF its just a myth . WindFurry have a % to proc and thats all. Two things to remember about WindFurry : 1. It produces lots of threat so ask pala for Blessing of Salvation or use your Tranquil air totem and start dps with WF when boss is at 90%; 2. It has 3 seconds cooldown after it procs so dont use Stormstrike at those 3 seconds ( when you see Tornado animation around you
) becouse Stormstrike have the bigest chance to proc WF .
Also dont forget to use shocks cuz with 3 points in Mental Quickness talent ( must have ) and with decent Atack power your shocks will do about 1k damage . Dont worry you wont run out of mana becouse you have Shamanistic rage so shock shock shock
Also with improved totems ( must have talents in raid ) ENHA shaman is best in party with warriors, ret palys and rogues becouse of Winfurry totem . So dont forget to place totems and your party members gonna be very happy doing alot more damage.
For talents just spec deep in Enhacement tree and put some in Elemental . I cant guarantee 100% but i think Elemental weapons talent dont work but you MUST put points in it becouse you gonna need Stormstrike .
P.S. my fingers are all red of typing
ohh i almost forgot i hate when i see HERO in very begining of the raid we should use HERO when boss enrage or something like that or when he enters final phase when we need fast heals or very damage.
